Transformation

“The pessimist complains about the wind,

The optimist expects it to change

But the Realist, adjusts the sails"

-William Arthur Ward

In life, all of us people are faced with situations where we are pinned to the wall with little or no freedom of movement, at such times we lose hope and start giving up. But what we always forget is that we still and always have a choice- a choice/freedom to react to a situation. We need to look at the situation and not understand what personality type are we, rather think about what are we gonna do about it? We always have a choice, we get to choose our frame of reference- whether we are pessimistic, whether we are optimistic or are we a realist.

But in the end the only thing that really matters is that we get to choose what we got to do about it. And so if one decides to fight against the current, be angry about the situation, to argue, to complain, that person will never go anywhere except where the current takes him. What is to be remembered in such a situation is that we have control- to react, to adjust the sails so that we harness the power of the current to our advantage. As Alice Walker said, “The most common way people lose power is by thinking that they don’t have any.”

As true as it is, what is also true is that we always have a choice, we always have the power. No matter what happens in you life, we always have that one thing, that one choice- to ascribe the desired meaning to the situation. No one can take away the way you choose to react to a situation, and this reaction will be the building bricks to your future. It isn't your intentions, it isn’t your thoughts, it is what you choose to manifest into the world. And as you take action (identify and react), the world reacts, you progress, you learn, you build and as you build, you create things and as you create things, you can construct a world that matches your vision. But at the core of it is the understanding that you have the power.

One loses that power by giving up to pessimism, negativity and complaining. But if you are an optimist and an action taking realist, you know that there is always something that can be done in any situation to take advantage. Always ask a question, ‘how is this worse thing that happened to me actually the best thing that ever happened to me' and when a person flips the mind-set like that, nothing in the real world actually changes, but you start seeing the things differently and that bad thing becomes something empowering. It acts as a pivot, as a message from the Universe that it’s time to change, this pivot then leads to transformation.

Now coming to what actually is transformation, well we all know that when you keep the water in a freezer it becomes ice and when it is kept out of the freezer, it again becomes water- this is change of form or a temporary phenomenon, but when the larva/caterpillar transforms into a butterfly- that is transformation, because it cannot go back to being a caterpillar again. This is what one should choose to do at the right time. But only transforming the present is not enough, for a true upgrade, transforming the past is as critical because that is what helps in maintaining your power and momentum or even grow it because it comes from understanding that you own your actions and take responsibility to transform, to harness the situation- that leads to the belief that you are in control and when you are in control, you can go wherever you want.

And as the Ancient One puts it in Doctor Strange, “drop the ego because you cannot beat a river into submission, so surrender to its current and use its power as your own.”

So, transform, surrender control and eventually control because transformation is power. Life doesn’t transform you for no reason and the catalyst could be a person and a man will always choose to transform for the right person so pay heed and choose to transform! Well, today this is a commitment even I made to myself to be the best version of myself.

Ciao and Cheers & blessings for the transformations coming your way!

Good Riddance

Good Riddance is often used as an exclamation of satisfaction at getting rid of someone or something. The above statement begs us a question, why would you want to get rid of a person or something in your life? But my thoughts are on the contrary, why would you not get rid of someone or something? Surprised? Read on to find out… In your life you’d experience various things, things that maybe good or bad and more often than not, the bad experiences leave a bigger impression on our tender minds as compared to the good ones, well that’s human tendency and you cannot do anything about it, or can you? Yes you can. The bad experiences of people vary from person to person and so do the coping mechanisms adopted by each person after all every person is different and so are their mechanisms- some take to excessive consumption of alcohol, some take to drugs, some dive deep into the ocean of self-doubt without ever thinking about how incredible they are the way they are. The...

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (SRT)

Moving a little bit away from philosophy, I am posting on current topics. This being my first post, I really hope that you like it. So the name Sachin Tendulkar as and when is heard evokes a thousand emotions. This name founds resonance with a large demography of persons over the world. Based on his achievements its is said that the cricketing era is divided into three periods namely Before Sachin(BS), Sachin(S), and now After Sachin(AS). His retirement was thoroughly dramatic which resulted in a nationwide "Sachinnn Sachinnn" frenzy. But now when the dust has settled down lets analyze what was it that he had done & also his grey areas. Though many people have different views about what Sachin has done. But according to me(also other people will agree) there are following ways in which he has made a tremendous impact on us: 1. He made us believe in real life superheroes: We started to have a belief that superheroes are real who walk in daylight & keep people in awe...

Meher- A Blessing

It’s been a long time since my last post here. I agree that I have been very busy, but I usually only share when it’s something that is close to my soul. This time it’s something that I have been working on for a long time, a thought I had and I was just postponing it since quite sometime- reason being my reluctance to take on a thing so huge that it scared me and I didn’t even find a name worthy enough to suit this cause. But the name and approval have come after a long wait and fight for it. And now as the name suggests, Meher means Benevolence in English. Bit of a background here, I began the process about a month and a half back and the name itself holds humongous importance for me. The cause was worthy enough of the name. The cause that has been taken up is supporting an orphanage which houses females with a troubled/abused past. The stories I have heard of little kids being abused has always appalled me at many levels. I mean how can one even think of abusing even ...
